Happy Birthday Elle!

Happy Birthday to our cute little Elle Belle! It seems like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital and now she is 9 years old!  She brings so much joy to our family!

She had a great birthday too!  She loves American Girl dolls so she decided she wanted to have an American Girl tea party with her friends.  We had so much fun finding ideas online and planning the menu and activities together.  We decorated and set the table with hot pink to look like the American Girl doll cafe. It turned out really cute!

Once all the girls had arrived, we started the tea party out with "Warm Welcome Cinnamon Buns" and a little box of question to pass around and ask each other, just like they do at the American Girl Cafe.

All the girls brought their dolls and they had their own tea party too

We served "Kit's Garden Party Sandwiches" and "Felicity's Patriotic Turkey Sandwiches" with "Kanani's fruit on a stick" and "Nellie's Carrot sticks."

For dessert, the girls were served "Molly's Flower Garden pots with chocolate mousse." They were delicious!

After lunch, the girls all made bracelets and headbands for their dolls

Then it was time for cupcakes and presents.  Of course, Jayne was right there to help blow out the candles.

After cake, the girls all moved downstairs to watch the American Girl Doll movie, "Molly."  It was such a fun party!  Elle has such cute friends!

That night we went to Blue Lemon for dinner and then came back to our house for a little family party. Grandma and Grandpa Adamson came over to have cupcakes with us and Elle got to open her gifts.

This year, when we asked Elle what she wanted for her birthday she said a manicure or pedicure kit and money to go shopping.  Really?  Our little girl just wants to go shopping?  Now I know she is growing up.  Even though it will be fun to go shopping together, it makes me a little sad to think she is getting so big.  We ended up getting her the nail kit she wanted and some money for shopping.  She was thrilled!

Easton got Elle a pedicure set with his own money.  He loves his sister!

Gma and Gpa Adamson got her an Orbeez perfume kit and a journal and Gma Irene got her a caboodle.

Cute little Jayne was helping Elle open her presents when, all of the sudden, she got up and walked into the kitchen.  She got out the markers and some paper and started coloring.  I thought she just got bored and wanted to color. But after a few minutes, she hopped down from the stool and brought Elle her picture. She knew that people were giving Elle presents and she wanted to give her one too.  It was so sweet!

We love you Elle!  Happy Birthday!

My favorite things about Elle:

-She is so good at ballet and loves to be on stage!
-She is great at the piano, even though she hates practicing.
-She is such a big help around the house.
-She is so thoughtful and plans little parties to make people happy.  She has planned a few "Happy Mom and Dad day" parties.  She and Easton decorated the basement with ribbons, made breakfast for us and gave us cards they made.
-She is so responsible!  She gets up, gets ready and has her bed made every morning before school and she is so great about doing her homework after school.
-She is the BEST big sister!  She is so good with Jayne.  She plays dress-up, Barbies and house with her.  She loves to play school and made Jayne cute little books to teach her colors, numbers and letters.    She teaches Jayne ballet and they dance together too.   Jayne adores Elle and is always so excited when she gets home from school.
-She is a great student and is always respectful of her teachers and leaders.
-Elle is a leader!   She loves to plan and organize activities for she and Easton and their friends--Animal Saftey Club, teaching ballet lessons for the neighborhood girls, trash pick-up for our street, Super Duper Summertime Sale, etc.
-She is so much fun!  She loves to decorate for holidays.  She and Easton spend hours making crafts to decorate their rooms for all holidays.
-She has a great imagination and is very creative!
-She is determined and knows what she wants.
-She loves American Girl Dolls, Ballet, reading, doing crafts, learning about animals and playing with her brother and sister and friends!

Happy Birthday Easton!

Happy Birthday to our sweet little boy Easton!  I can't believe he is 6 years old!  He is growing up too fast!

Easton had a great birthday!  That morning he had Super Sport camp with his buddy, Drake.  They got to play football, soccer and do rock climbing.  In the afternoon, Don took Easton and Elle to Nickelcade to play arcade games.  They had so much fun!  Easton would play video games all day, if we let him, and for some reason turning in tickets for little prizes makes it all that much more fun!  I made an applesauce cake for him while they were gone and we had a little family party in the back yard that night.  Grandma and Grandpa Adamson and Uncle Ken and cousin Mitch came to celebrate with us.  The kids played in the backyard and Easton got to open some presents.

Cute little Jayne loves singing "Happy Birthday" and knows that blowing out candles follows.  She was right there to help Easton blow them out!  Elle made Easton the cutest card with Angry Birds on it.  It said, "Have a Birdtastic Birthday Easton!"  She is so sweet!

We got Easton a Ninjago Lego set and he was so excited!  He loves Legos!  We got him a big Nerf gun too.

Easton got a Ninjago Lego set from Grandma and Grandpa too and backyard safari vest from Grandma Irene

PARTY WITH CREATURE ENCOUNTERS

We had a birthday party with friends a couple of days later at Grandma and Grandpa's house and had Creature Encounters come.  It was the perfect party for Easton.  He loves bugs, lizards and snakes so that is what Cary (from Creature Encounters) brought.  Easton loved it and I think his friends did too!

They all played basketball while waiting for everyone to get there

Cary was great with the kids.  He started off by teaching them how to take care of animals.  Then he brought out the creatures, one at a time, and talked about them.  He brought out the turtles first.  All the kids wanted to touch them and were amazed at how old a couple of them were.

Then he brought out the lizards.  The kids got to see them eat little worms and thought it was so cool.  He brought a few different kinds, including legless lizards

The tarantula was neat to see and hold.  Easton even put it on his head.  Elle didn't have much desire to hold any of the animals but she touched the tarantula.

Easton liked all the snakes!  Jayne was so cute watching with Gpa Don

All the boys couldn't wait for the "big" snake.

Easton was so brave to let the boa constrictor wrap all around him.  Yikes!

We got an Angry Birds cake to have with his friends.  He loved it!  He has a great group of friends.  It was such a fun party!

Happy Birthday Easton!  I love you!

Easton loves Soccer, BYU, Star Wars, Ninjago, Legos, riding his bike and scooter, playing video games, playing with friends and spending time as a family.

My favorite things about Easton:

-He loves to make people smile and laugh
-His ability to make friends so easily
-His contagious smile, laugh and big hugs!
-He still wants us to lay by him at night and tries to "trap" us so we can't leave
-If I am holding his hand, he will squeeze mine three times to mean, "I Love You!" Then I will squeeze his four times, "I love you more!" and then he squeezes mine 5 times, etc.  He is so cute!
-He loves his sisters and is an amazing brother (even though he can be a real tease!)
-He is a loyal BYU fan and has even convinced some of his friends to switch to BYU from Utah
-He loves his blankie and stuffed animals; "Coco" the dog, "Plaws" the bear (because he thought Paws was Plaws when he was younger), "Cosmo" the cougar, his Cougar Pillow Pet and "Angry" the angry bird.  He takes a zoo to bed with him at night!
-He is amazing at putting together legos and can do sets that are for ages 9-14, pretty much on his own.  If he starts a set, he will sit at the table for hours until it is finished and only asks for help finding a piece in the pile.  He is a "finisher."
-He is a great reader and does his best in school.
-He loves soccer and gets so excited when he scores a goal.  It is cute seeing him jump up and down with his arms in the air.
-He loves being together as a family and wishes we could all sleep in the same room together.  He is a tender hearted little boy.

New Rooms
With a new baby coming, we had to get the nursery ready, which meant moving Jayne into Elle's room.  Elle was actually excited even though she had to give up her big bed for a twin so we could fit two beds in the room.  She loved picking out new bedding and was so excited for Don to paint the walls purple.  It turned out really cute!

Jayne loves sharing a room with Elle and loves her new big girl bed. The only problem is that she has a hard time staying in it.  We put pillows in the side by the wall and a bean bag on the other side but somehow she still ends up on the floor, in the crack, or under Elle's bed.  She is a funny little girl!

They are so cute together!  Elle is such a good big sister. Even though Jayne gets into her things sometimes, she is so sweet with her.  She plays dolls with her, plays school, does dress-ups and just loves her.

Easton was a little jealous that Elle and Jayne get to share a room and that he didn't have anyone to share with so we wanted to do something to make him feel special too.  He has been asking to paint his room blue so we decided to do it!

He was super excited to pick out some new Star Wars posters too.

Easton loves his blue room!
